Project Description
An attempt to make an iconic piece of art as The Kiss pop out of the canvas, reproductions and monographs as an object of the surrounding environment.
The Proposal is for the renovation of of an old 17 stories high office building (from 70s) following a Client's request to develop a few variants of the façades.
The Kiss as well as most of Klimt’s works always fascinated me with their intrinsic archi-tectonic power. The notion of how to approach the design of the façade came unintentionally by itself, simply – it was there asking to happen.
Klimt’s The Kiss challenged me to add to it the missing third and fourth (time) dimensions thus becoming a real life entity.
The intention is materialized structurally by utilization of lightweight steel form-giving frames, stainless steel pipes, and colored meshes as skin creating materials.
